Over the years, Arsenal has generally used the League Cup to give opportunities to young players, but this can be more difficult in this year’s competition.

After making eight summer signatures from the first team, Arsenal has a relatively large team, so that the League Cup may be necessary to give a few minutes to senior rotation players.

Despite this, the wait is that at least one or two young players will join the first team team against Port Vale, with Max Dowman most likely.

Apart from Dowman, Jack Porter seems to be online to go to the game. Arsenal almost always takes three goalkeepers to matches, even if there is only space so that two are appointed to the team.

Tommy Setford would have been the obvious choice, but Setford played for the U21 arsenal against the county of Newport on Tuesday evening.

The same goes for Andre Harriman-Annous, Charles Sagoe Jr., Josh Nichols and Marli Salmon. They were all involved in the first team of pre-season games or games in the past, but they have all played against Newport County and are apparently not available on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Porter trained Tuesday with the first team, after having made his senior debut for Arsenal at this stage of the League Cup last year.

It seems that Porter will join David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga on the team’s bus, with Kepa likely to make his competitive debut for the Gunners against Port Vale.
