Arsenal academy coach says he’s been blown away by ‘outstanding’ player just days after leaving Man Utd

Arsenal confirmed that Horseman had joined the club as a players’ development trail of the professional development phase, where he will work in close collaboration with the U21 coach, Max Porter, among others.

The Arsenal Academy has produced stellar talents over the years, which Mikel Arteta has benefited a lot.

In the first match of Horseman, the coach distinguished a player for praise, a starlet who was already started by Arteta in the first team of Arsenal.

After farewell to Man United, Horseman was able to assess the U21 team of Arsenal for the first time during the confrontation of the Trophy Virtue against League two of the Comté de Newport.

It was a first dramatic match for Horseman, when Arsenal left him late to win, coming from a goal to win 2-1 in the 89th minute.

Andre Harriman-Annous and Charles Sagoe Junior went on the match sheet, but post-match, rider distinguished another player to rent.

“Tommy (Setford) really helped for the goal,” Horseman told Arsenal.

“I must say that I think it was absolutely exceptional, coming for things and established a first contact, it really helped young guys.”

Setford, who made his debut for Arsenal at the Carabao Cup meeting last season with Preston North End, showed its maturity between the sticks, with its ability to stand out from one of its new coaches.

It is edifying to learn that the goalkeeper benefits from his work with the first team despite not playing often, being part of the Inaki Cana group in training, in parallel with the experience and quality of David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

According to Horseman’s assessment, Setford made the difference in the competition to help Arsenal on their way to victory.

For Newport, it was a bitter blow to lose against the U21 team of Arsenal, with the manager Dave Hughes taking the time to applaud something that the Gunners did particularly well.

“You have to give them credit, individually this evening, 1V1 in all these individual duels, they made a problem, they pretended to be a challenge, and we could not grasp it.”

From late goals to duel victory, to a strong goalkeeper performance, Horseman will be a happy man after watching his first U21S match since he moved to Hale End.
