Arsenal agree Ajax deal for 29yo loan

Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to join Ajax on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Dutch club reaching an agreement for the Arsenal defender to leave Nottingham Forest early.

Zinchenko joined Forest at the start of the campaign on loan from Arsenal but failed to establish himself, making just 10 competitive appearances. Suffering from injury again, he has played mainly on the bench in recent weeks and has been informed by Sean Dyche that he had no future with Forest.

“We spoke to the player and made his situation clear to him,” Dyche said ahead of Forest’s game against Arsenal. “He is aware of it so we will see what happens.

“We will see what happens, we are open with him. He is a thorough professional and I am sure he will move forward.”

Ajax has already brought in Takehiro Tomiyasuand are now preparing to add Zinchenko, with the pair set to reunite in Amsterdam having previously played together at Arsenal.

Ajax have verbally reached an agreement to sign Zinchenko from Arsenal, with a loan deal in place until June, when he will become a free agent.

Zinchenko is set to fly to the Netherlands within 24 hours for her medical examination.
