Arsenal among the clubs hoping to sign this Eredivisie midfielder
In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Arsenal were among the clubs hoping to sign Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber. The Gunners are thought to rival Manchester United and West Ham United in the race to sign Dutch talent next year.
Timber’s impressive form in Dutch football
Timber has enjoyed good form at the Dutch club during this campaign as he has been tasked with producing a series of impressive displays for them in the center of the park. The Dutch sensation has scored two goals and registered one assist in 14 appearances for Feyenoord this season in all competitions.
The 24-year-old has proven his worth in midfield by making 18 tackles, ten blocks, nine interceptions and 12 clearances in the Dutch Eredivisie. He was even cautious when distributing possession from midfield after completing 83.2% of his pass attempts in the Dutch top flight (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract with the Dutch club will expire at the end of this campaign. Therefore, it makes sense for Arsenal to complete a deal for Timber next year.

Should Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta take Timber Up?
Timber is a good tackler of the ball and can sense danger well to win the ball back for his team in his own half. He usually gets his foot on the ball when necessary and excels at coming out of midfield.

The Dutch talent can contribute by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. Timber is primarily a box-to-box midfielder, but can also play as a midfielder or in the number ten position if asked to do so. However, only time will tell if he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.
We can expect Timber to bring more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He is good enough to serve as a good rotation piece in the north London club’s team.
At 24, Timber has his peak years ahead of him, making him a good fit for the Gunners next year. Therefore, Arteta should focus on him and reunite him with his brother, Jurrien, at the London club.
