Arsenal are facing stiff competition for this Nottingham Forest ace

In a recent report, Fichajes said Arsenal face stiff competition for Nottingham Forest ace Elliot Anderson. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are set to rival Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign the England midfielder next year.

Anderson’s impressive form in the Premier League

Anderson has enjoyed good form at the Midlands club after producing a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 23-year-old has scored one goal and one assist in 14 appearances for Nottingham this season in various competitions.

The English talent has anchored the midfield well for his current employers and has done well to make 29 tackles, 18 blocks, ten interceptions and nine clearances in the Premier League. He has also been careful in distributing possession from midfield having completed 83.4% of his passing attempts in England’s top flight (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Nottingham will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Gunners to complete a deal for him on the cheap next year.

Should Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta bring in Anderson?

Anderson loves tackling and is good at timing his challenges to win the ball back for his team in his own half. He usually eliminates danger when the opposition is on the offensive and is also a good passer of the ball.

The English sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder, but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or as a left-back player if necessary. He already knows the Premier League well and will not take long to settle in at Arsenal.

Anderson would inject more energy and dynamism into Mikel Arteta’s midfield department. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team place at the Emirates Stadium in the years to come. The English talent is good enough to help the Gunners compete on all fronts in the future.

At 23 years old, the best is yet to come for Anderson as long as he continues to improve with each passing year. It therefore makes sense that the Gunners will do everything they can to sign him in January or at the end of this campaign.
