Arsenal are prepared to launch a move for this La Liga forward

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Arsenal are ready to launch a move for Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong. It has been stated that the Gunners would be willing to invest €40 million to attract Cameroonian talent next year.

Eyong’s impressive La Liga form

Eyong has enjoyed good form at the Spanish club as he put in a series of impressive performances for them in the final third. The 22-year-old has scored six goals and three assists in 12 appearances for Levante this season across multiple competitions.

The Cameroonian sensation has led the line well for the Spanish side and deserves credit for averaging 2.49 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 50% of his attempts on target. However, Eyong must find a way to improve his distribution of the ball after completing 69.4% of his passing attempts in the top flight of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract with the Spanish club will expire in the summer of 2029, so it would be difficult for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta take Eyong?

Eyong is able to find a meter of space for himself to get a few shots on target. He has an eye for creating the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Cameroonian talent can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. However, some concerns remain over whether he will be able to make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Gunners manage to sign him next year.

We can expect Eyong to bring more firepower to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He is good enough to serve as a good replacement for Viktor Gyokeres and is more than capable of challenging for a regular starting spot at the north London club in the years to come.

At 22, Eyong has the potential to become a success story in English football in the long term. Therefore, Arteta would be wise to do everything in his power to sign him in January or next summer.
