Arsenal defender close to moving when calls entering decisive scene

Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is in advanced calls to join FC Porto, The sports news understands.

Kiwior, 25, is open to leaving northern London this summer in search of regular playing time after slipping down the hacking order after the arrival of Cripthian Mosquera.

The Portuguese side has worked with a deal for several weeks and remains optimistic to reach an agreement with Gunners.

Negotiations are centered around a first loan with an obligation to buy, as they look to strengthen their defense for the new season.

Palace is investigating defensive reinforcements and has identified Kiwior as a potential goal, although they are not yet to make a formal bid.

Mikel Areteta’s page is believed to apply for a fee in the area 30 million (£ 25.4 million/$ 32.6 million) to share roads with Poland International.

Kiwior was signed from Spezia in January 2023 and has shown glimpses of quality in northern London but has fought for regular playing time during the Spanish boss.

His ability to work in the center-back and the left back has been valued by the Arsenal manager, but with the competition Fierce and the club that needs to balance squad numbers, the shooters are prepared to sanction his departure if their valuation is met.
