Arsenal ecstatic after superstar reaches ‘full agreement’ to sign and deal declared ‘done’

Arsenal have reached “full agreement” on a new contract with Bukayo Saka, according to a journalist who has explained why the club have yet to announce the deal.

Saka, 24, is Arsenal’s talisman in attack and at the heart of everything they do well in the final third. However, the right winger only ranks seventh in Arsenal’s list of highest-paid players on £195,000 per week.

His current contract will expire in less than two years, in the summer of 2027. Negotiations on a new contract began a long time ago and both sides were willing to reach an agreement.

And according to the latest news from journalist Mark Brus, a “full agreement” has now been reached,

Report in The daily briefingBrus wrote: “So far I have only had positive signals about the future of Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal, and today the people I spoke with went further: a full deal is now in place.”

This came after Brus insisted he had been “told the new Saka deal was done”.

Brus then tripled his claims, adding: “Saka has reached a full agreement with the club on a new contract which runs until June 2030.”

Three years will therefore be added to Saka’s contract, and the striker will benefit from a practical salary increase.

Previous reports indicated that Saka could earn around £300,000 per week, which would make him the highest-paid player at the club at present.

A salary of that magnitude would not make him the highest-paid player in Arsenal’s history, however. Mesut Ozil previously pocketed £350,000-a-week during the latter part of his time in north London.

Providing insight into why Arsenal have yet to announce the deal, Brus concluded: “Final touches on image rights, bonus structures and media rollout are still being finalized.

“There is no problem – just a calculated delay aligned with Arsenal’s wider communications plan.”

Another big Arsenal extension on the horizon

Arsenal, via sporting director Andrea Berta, have made it their mission to tie their top players to new and/or improved deals over the past 12 months.

Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have all written expansions. David Raya and Leandro Trossard signed new deals this summer that increased their salaries without adding extra years.

Arsenal are progressing on a new contract for Jurrien Timber, who may well be the best full-back in the Premier League right now.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will focus on extending Declan Rice’s stay once Timber and Saka leave.

“In Arsenal’s plans there is also the idea of offering a new contract to Declan Rice,” Romano said earlier this week. “Arsenal therefore also wish to discuss with Rice and offer him a new contract.

“It’s part of the plans, it’s part of the conversations, so let’s follow this situation, because Declan too will be one of the names mentioned internally for a deserved new contract.”
