Arsenal ‘exploring summer transfer move for Julian Alvarez’ despite former Man City star’s mammoth release clause
ARSENAL are considering a summer offer for Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez, 25, has been in impressive form this season with Atletico as he has 11 goals and five assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
According to ESPN, the striker’s performances intensified interest from the Gunners who were considering signing him last summer.
The same source claims the north Londoners kept tabs on the Argentina international as well as Benjamin Sesko, who later signed for Manchester United from RB Leipzig, before landing Viktor Gyokeres.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has strong links with Atleti, having spent 12 years working at the club before joining the Emirates in March.
In fact, it was Berta who negotiated Alvarez’s £82million move to the Wanda Metropolitano from Manchester City in 2024.

It has been reported that the Italian director has a close relationship with the ex-Man City star’s agent Fernando Hidalgo and the rest of his camp.
However, the exact nature of the contacts between the Premier League leaders remains unclear.
But it has been suggested that Arsenal officials have made informal inquiries to determine whether a deal would be possible in the summer transfer window.
But Alvarez is believed to have a astronomical £433million release clause in his contract.
