Arsenal Facing Stiff Competition For This Real Madrid Playmaker: Should Arteta Move In For Him?

In a recent report, Grada 3 claimed that Arsenal are facing tough competition for Real Madrid playmaker Arda Guler. It has been stated that the Gunners are set to rival Newcastle United, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to attract Turkish talent next year.

Guler’s impressive form in Spanish football this season

Guler has made a strong start to the campaign putting in a handful of impressive performances for Los Blancos on the attacking end of the pitch. The Turkish striker has appeared in ten matches for Real Madrid this season, scoring three goals and registering four assists in all competitions.

The 20-year-old has proven to be a consistent player in the final third averaging 2.25 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 42.9% of his attempts on target. Guler has also been precise in distributing the ball in the opposition’s half, as evidenced by his 88% pass success rate in the top flight of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract with the Madrid club will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Gunners to sign him on a discount next year.

Should Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta replace Guler?

Guler excels at finding a meter of space to allow him to score a few shots on goal. He has an eye for creating attractive chances in and around the opposition penalty box and is also a good dribbler with the ball.

The Turkish sensation contributed by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He is primarily an attacking midfielder, but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-back player if asked to do so.

Guler would undoubtedly improve the quality of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is more than capable of earning a regular place in the first team at the north London club.

At 20, Guler has the potential to be a generational talent, so it makes sense that the Gunners would move for him in January or next summer. However, only time will tell if he can maintain his good form in the Premier League.
