Arsenal fans and David Seaman have a question for David Raya after Sunderland draw

David Raya was put under the microscope of Arsenal fans after the Gunners’ draw against Sunderland.
Already boasting seven clean sheets, Raya would have entered the Stadium of Light with the certainty that he would not be beaten.
What the Spaniard perhaps didn’t expect was to be beaten twice, as Dan Ballard ended Arsenal’s magnificent run of clean sheets in the first half.
Ballard’s incredible performance against Arsenal was a blow, the other coming in the 94th minute when Brian Brobbey beat Raya to score Sunderland’s equalizer.
Despite Raya being one of the best goalkeepers in the world, fans couldn’t help but share their displeasure with the 30-year-old’s actions when Brobbey broke the North East.

Arsenal fans were furious with David Raya during Sunderland’s equalizing goal
Brobbey converted an acrobatic strike to level the score and ultimately deny Arsenal three points.
The Dutchman’s finish was superb, but from an Arsenal perspective, fans are wondering if Raya could have done better.
As seen above, the passage of the game saw a costly mix-up between Gabriel Magalhaes and Raya, which made fans wonder why the goalkeeper decided to run away.
“All about Raya. Trust the best CB in the world to fend off the attacker and stay on your line!”
Another supporter agreed that Raya was responsible for the equalizer.
“Honestly, I don’t think Raya should be at this level! Good match today, but this decision cost us dearly!”
One fan described the Spain international’s actions as “absolutely appalling”, an opinion shared by many other Arsenal lovers on X.
“I love David Raya but this is absolutely dreadful. He doesn’t need to come for this. But if you want to come for this then at least put your hand up. It’s almost like he didn’t see Brobbey was there. But it was a screamer that cost us 3 points.”
“Raya definitely played this one poorly. He was never going to catch it, no matter what was happening in front of him. He had to stay back or double up. IMO.”
“The more I see this, the worse it seems. It was a terrible decision on Raya’s part.”
The main complaint from fans was that Raya decided to run away but did nothing else, allowing Brobbey to get a head start on him and Gabriel.
“Why did Raya go out and do nothing?” » asked one frustrated fan.
Another responded to the post saying: “Same question I asked, he should have stayed at the post, Gabriel was marking the guy. »
Others couldn’t understand why Raya didn’t touch the ball, because at that moment the goalkeeper looked like he wanted to catch the ball like a cradle.
“He should hit the ball there and not claim it.”
“If you go out, you have to touch the ball. It cost us that second goal.”
David Seaman disagreed with Raya’s decision against Sunderland
Arsenal fans around the world weren’t happy with Raya’s costly decision, but what did one figure who followed the goalkeeper’s path think?

Fortunately, a verdict was possible, since on Premier League productions, David Seaman gave his opinion on the Spaniard’s mishap, agreeing that it was just that: a mishap.
“I wonder if Raya should come. And the way he comes for the ball, he tries to catch it, is he aware that the guy is getting closer?” » asked the sailor.
“It’s a great finish from Brobbey, but I would just question Raya’s decision, whether he should come and try to hit him, rather than trying to catch him.”
It’s still unclear what Raya was planning to do, but it didn’t work, and after conceding for the first time in eight games, it’s possible the 30-year-old lost sleep over the competition.
