Arsenal fans will absolutely love what Theo Walcott has just said about Emmanuel Adebayor

Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Adebayor played together at Arsenal.

The Englishman joined the club from Southampton as a teenager in January 2006 and spent over a decade at the club.

Adebayor also joined the Gunners in the same window, but left just three and a half years later to join Manchester City.

The move upset Arsenal fans, and some of Adebayor’s actions since his departure have further strained his relationship with the Emirates Stadium faithful.

Which is why Walcott’s latest comments will be welcomed by Arsenal fans.

Theo Walcott’s two-word response when asked if Emmanuel Adebayor would join the current Arsenal squad

Arsenal currently have one of the best teams in Europe.

Mikel Arteta already had a number of incredible players, but Andrea Berta gave him eight new signings this summer to take the team to a whole new level.

One of Arsenal’s big signings was Viktor Gyokeres, who was Europe’s most prolific striker over the previous two campaigns.

The Swede has scored 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting CP, and he is now on a mission to lead Arsenal to glory this season.

In a video on Amazon Prime Video Sport, Walcott claimed that Robin van Persie would start in this Arsenal team, presumably ahead of Gyokeres.

It’s a controversial claim, but when Adebayor’s name was put in front of him, Walcott issued a response that Arsenal fans will love.

“Absolutely not,” he replied, before laughing at the suggestion.

Emmanuel Adebayor’s statistics at Arsenal

Adebayor had the potential to become a star at Arsenal.

The Togolese striker was big, strong and clinical in the box. He put in some great performances under the famous red and white and scored some memorable goals, notably against Tottenham.

80 direct goal contributions in 142 games is a very decent return for a striker, which just goes to show that Adebayor could have become an Arsenal great.

However, he ruined his legacy – not only by moving to Manchester City, but also by disrespecting the Gunners with his outrageous celebration after scoring against them.

To make matters worse, he then joined Tottenham, which is absolutely unforgivable for Arsenal fans.
