Arsenal: Gabriel taunts Tottenham star on Instagram amid north London derby controversy and red card ‘claim’

Gabriel mocked Tottenham and Richarlison after Arsenal’s north London derby victory.

Arsenal won 4-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both scored twice to repeat the scoreline from the first derby earlier in the season.

The result leaves the Gunners five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, having played a game more than Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Tottenham remain four points clear of the relegation zone as Igor Tudor’s first game as interim head coach – after replacing Thomas Frank – ended in defeat.

However, the game could have gone differently as Randal Kolo Muani had a goal disallowed, with Spurs trailing by a goal for a push on Gabriel.

Replays suggested there was very little contact from the French striker on the Arsenal number 6 and Tudor, on the touchline, gestured that it was a diving Gabriel.

Additionally, some Tottenham fans on social media insisted the Brazilian should have been sent off in the first half for bringing down Kolo Muani as the last man.

Ultimately, both decisions went in Gabriel’s favor and he took to Instagram after the match to further rub salt in the wounds.

Gabriel continued his social media feud with Richarlison by tagging his fellow Brazilian in a post of himself on the Arsenal team bus holding up a card of four hearts as well as the player of the match award, a Rio drink and a packet of M&M’s.

Speaking after the win over Spurs, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he was hoping for a turning point for his side following a run of two wins in seven Premier League matches ahead of the north London derby.

“It’s like we showed what we’re made of, but then you have to show it again and again, because you just have to analyze how you feel after each match,” the Spaniard said.

“I mean, it’s a huge roller coaster and it’s not sustainable.

“So we did a great job today, I think we’re all very proud of the way we won the game, not just the way we played and we know what that means to us. We’re going back.”
