Hoping for a less chaotic London derby at home, Arsenal host Brentford in Wednesday’s Premier League encounter.

Nearest challengers Manchester City are now just five points behind Mikel Arteta’s side, whose advantage will be reduced to just two points if they suffer a shock defeat and the Sky Blues beat Fulham this week.

William Saliba was an unexpected absentee from Arsenal’s squad to face Chelsea after suffering a knock during a recent training session.

The Frenchman will undergo further testing into the matter early this week, so while he has not yet been ruled out of Wednesday’s game, it would be a shock to see him involved.

Leandro Trossard suffered a slight muscle injury during last week’s race. 3-1 Champions League victory against Bayern Munichand like Saliba, the Belgian’s chances of returning for Wednesday’s match are slim to none.

Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a thigh problem while representing Brazil during the November international break, and although Arteta only said he would miss “a few weeks”, there are fears he could be out for up to two months.

Kai Havertz is set to make a long-awaited return from a knee injury, but after missing out on Chelsea, the Germany international may not be ready for the Bees’ visit either.
