Arsenal, Liverpool or Man City? Shearer reveals two key reasons for ‘huge advantage’ in PL title prediction

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has argued that Arsenal have a “huge advantage” in the Premier League title race for two reasons.
Arsenal just had another great weekend they increased their lead at the top of the Premier League.
The gunners edged Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday to win their seventh consecutive match in all competitions, while Man City and Liverpool suffered defeats against Aston Villa and Brentford.
Man City are no longer the team they once were under Pep Guardiola, while Liverpool are severely lacking balance after their £400million-plus summer overhaul and will take some time to hit their stride this season.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have arguably the most complete squad in the Premier League as they have quality options in every position after spending £250m on signings this summer.

And Shearer believes the Gunners have a “huge advantage” over their rivals in the Premier League title race due to two key factors.
“You’re going to have games like this after a midweek European game and you just need to get the result,” Shearer said on The Rest is Football podcast.
“It wasn’t as comfortable as Arsenal would like and it wasn’t a great performance but they won the game.
“Arsenal’s huge advantage over Liverpool, Man City and anyone else who thinks they can challenge is defense and set pieces.
“They are in charge because of their ability to win a game even if they are not playing well and that is a result of the set pieces and their quality in defense.
“That’s why they currently have such a clear lead at the top of the Premier League.”
Regarding rivals Arsenal’s mistakes this weekend, Shearer added: “It shows how difficult this league is. Players aren’t allowed to use their phones, so I hope not (that they didn’t know).”

Ahead of this weekend’s matches, Man City boss Guardiola revealed the ‘reality’ with Arsenal and Liverpool this season.
“In the Premier League, I have the feeling now that Arsenal are not going to lose many points,” Guardiola said.
“So that’s the reality. I have that feeling with Arsenal, with Liverpool too.
“Now Liverpool have lost their last few games – not in the Champions League in Frankfurt – but I saw the United game, they had incredible chances to win the game. So I think Liverpool remain one of the main favorites to do that.
“The distance, three, four points at this stage, it’s nothing,” he added. “I always had the feeling that both teams, and maybe one other, would lose few points. That’s why we have to be there.”
