As a scout for a club like Arsenal, every so often you’ll drop on a memorable moment and it seems the Gunners have done just that this weekend.
Arsenal, like any other big club in Europe, have a vast scouting network that spans the world over.
However, things were kept a tad closer to home for the Gunners this weekend, with scouts heading over to the Netherlands to watch Ajax take on NAC Breda.
There was one man on their mind, Mika Godts, and boy, did he deliver.

Mika Godts has already been turning heads this season with his superb form for Ajax.
But against Breda this weekend, Godts ramped things up further with one of the best goals you’ll ever see and a near certainty for the Puskas award.
And according to TeamTalk, Arsenal were there to witness it in person.
Taking the ball just inside his own half, Godts sets off on a mazy run before finding himself inside the box and closing down on goal. From here, there is zero panic as Godts simply fakes to shoot to pass the final defender, before dummying the goalkeeper in similar fashion and rounding him to tap home.
In terms of individual brilliance, this from Godts was right up there with anything you’ll ever witness.
Not only that, but it means Godts has now got an impressive stat line of 16 goals and 11 assists for the season.

With Arsenal clearly in the market for new attack-minded players, Godts obviously ticks a lot of boxes.
However, Arsenal are not alone in their interest.
According to the same report, Chelsea were also there to see Godts do the business, while La Liga giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also keen.
Godts is almost certain to get a move away from Ajax this summer. Arsenal, then, have to be ready to strike if the time comes.
