Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a seventh signing of the summer, after bagging deals for Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres. Mikel Arteta is hoping it will prove the remedy to Arsenal’s shortcomings in the Premier League, with the Gunners having finished second in back-to-back seasons.

The capital club haven’t wasted any time this summer, with Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi having already been added to the Arsenal ranks. Madueke is expected to follow in the coming days, as he makes the cross-capital move from rivals Chelsea.

Mosquera and Gyokeres are also being lined up, with the defender and striker likely to be brought in from Valencia and Sporting, respectively. But according to talkSPORT, a seventh new addition could follow shortly after that.

It’s being claimed that on top of the bumper deals Arsenal have already lined up this summer, they could still secure the signature of Eberechi Eze. The Crystal Palace ace emerged as a target for Arteta and co. earlier in the window, with north London rivals Tottenham also rumoured to be in the conversation.

Eze, who fired Crystal Palace to their first-ever major trophy last season, has a £68million release clause in his contract, with Arsenal said to be considering whether to trigger it. He netted eight goals in the Premier League last term and registered a further eight assists.

Arteta is believed to be a fan of the 27-year-old, who came close to a Manchester City switch in the 2023 summer transfer window. Arsenal view Eze as a central attacker and somebody who can complement their midfield, as well as service whoever leads the line.

According to former Arsenal ace Paul Merson, Eze could prove the perfect addition to the squad. He wrote in his Sky Sports column: “If you asked me whether Arsenal should sign Eberechi Eze or Madueke, I’d have said Eze all day long.

“Now that’s a deal I can see happening and it would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal. He’s perfect. Arsenal struggle when teams come to the Emirates and put everyone behind the ball. Teams want to limit the space Arsenal have to play in and they have struggled to break teams down with those tactics.”

Arsenal have until September 1 to get summer deals across the line. Before that, the 2024/25 runners-up begin their Premier League campaign away to Manchester United.
