Arsenal star reveals he found out about transfer through viral social media | Football | Sport
Jakub Kiwior, who was loaned to Arsenal at FC Porto, revealed that he had discovered his transfer through a viral position on social networks.
Arsenal had a busy summer transfer window, bringing eight new signatures, including Viktor Gyokerres, Ebelechi Eze and Piero Hincie. Players who were no longer necessary were also moved, permanently or on loan.
Nuno Tavares, Marquinhos and Albert Sambi Lokonga went to permanent agreements, while Kiwior joined Porto on a loan throughout the season the day of the deadline, teaming up with his compatriot Jan Bednarek. Portuguese heavyweights also have the obligation to buy the Polish international.
However, the 25 -year -old admitted that he had only learned this decision via Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter). During his international functions, the defender detailed the situation in an interview with the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
“It was difficult to say goodbye to Arsenal because I did not know when it really happened,” he said. “If I had known the exact day in advance, I would have had time to prepare myself.”
“During the last three days there, I did not know what my last one would be. Fabrizio Romano launched the here we go Go campaign, and I started to receive dozens of messages and calls to congratulate me.
“I was starting to train. The players looked at her on their phones and asked me why I had equipped myself when he was already closed.”
Romano posted on August 29: “Jakub Kiwior at FC Porto, here is! Acribed deal with arsenal on loan with obligation to buy. 2 million euros (1.7 million pounds sterling) Honds with the potential clause of 17 million euros (15 million pounds sterling) of more £ / £ 23m).”
Despite this, Kiwior continued as usual in Arsenal, apparently less informed of his own situation than the well -known influencer. A day later, Kiwior officially discovered that he was heading for Porto, allowing him to start saying his farewell to the Emirates.
“I refused to say goodbye there because I still had no information on what could or not,” he added. “(But) the next day, I knew I could say goodbye.
“I went to the field to say goodbye to my teammates and the coach. They set up a farewell tunnel, and it was difficult. Everyone I wanted to say goodbye was there, so I had to make some phone calls.”
