Arsenal stars slammed over tunnel footage – with Rice the exception | Football | Sport
Arsenal could be on the cusp of the most historic season in the club’s history. Not only do they sit prominently at the top of the Premier League table, but the Gunners are Champions League favorites and benefited from a favorable draw.
As the days get longer and the nights lighter, the north London air anticipates that something special might be around the corner. The capital club took a giant step towards a first league title since 2004 by getting the better of London rivals Chelsea this weekend.
However, it was something that happened after the gutsy 2-1 win that raised eyebrows for a former professional. Picking up on the fact that Declan Rice seemed to be the only Arsenal player to acknowledge former full-time players Freddie Ljungberg and Emmanuel Petit, Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu took to social media for a lengthy rant.
Posting footage from the tunnel on
“I came across this image of the players and staff coming out of the tunnel after Arsenal’s victory against Chelsea. There was Freddie Ljungberg and Emmanuel Petit – two Arsenal legends who won the prize and helped shape one of the club’s greatest eras.

“And almost no one recognizes them. Not after a win, not on their home turf, nothing. But Declan Rice was the only exception, and honestly, it was great to see. The way he took a moment to recognize two men who helped build this club says a lot about his character!!!”
Before concluding: “Football has a short memory, and I understand that. But culture lives in the small moments as much as the big ones. It costs absolutely nothing – a nod, a handshake, two seconds of your time. Dec understands, and I hope others take note.”
Rice has been a fan favorite since arriving from West Ham for £105million in the summer of 2023. He has become a staple of the Gunners’ midfield and is seen as a potential player of the year candidate, if Arsenal get the job done in the Premier League.
