Madueke may opt to leave Chelsea following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, while West Ham star Mohammed Kudus remains a target for Maresca’s outfit at £60m.

However, the Italian boss has already stated his desire to keep Madueke at the club. “Noni is our player, you can read a lot of speculation at the moment but we consider Noni our player for the coming season,” Maresca said last month.

Madueke is currently competing at the Club World Cup with Chelsea, who next face Brazilian outfit Palmeiras on Sunday morning, having started two of their four games so far in the United States.

Arsenal had previously been interested due to Madueke’s ability to perform on both flanks, which could aid the Gunners in their search for a capable Bukayo Saka backup, with Madueke also able to compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the opposite wing.

Martinelli has been linked with an exit to Saudi Arabia, though CBS Sports claim that despite interest from the Middle East, neither Arsenal nor the player are actively pushing for a move.

Arsenal are also trying to tie up deals for Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad and Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera this month.
