Arsenal: Switzerland captain Lia Walti set to join Juventus
Swiss captain Lia Walti left Arsenal after seven years at the club and should join the Italian team of Juventus.
The 32 -year -old man had stayed a year on his contract in northern London and said it was “one of the most difficult decisions she ever had to take”.
Walti signed Turbine Potsdam in the summer of 2018 and made 183 appearances for the Gunners, winning the title of female Super League, two championship cups and the Champions League.
She was part of the team that won the Champions League last season, although the midfielder was an unused substitute in the final victory against Barcelona.
Walti has more than 100 international ceilings and captain of Switzerland in their European home championship this summer.
It is a key target for Juventus, which has until the end of the Italian transfer date on September 10 to conclude an agreement.
