Arsenal to Make Offer to Sign Boca Juniors Star Tomas Aranda

Arsenal are set to make an offer to sign a player described as ‘the new Lionel Messi’ in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners can afford to focus on signing young talent from around the world with high potential in the current window, rather than spending significant sums on improving their senior squad.

The North London club won the Premier League title last season, showing that they have a squad capable of going all the way.

As a result, they can now look to plan further ahead rather than for the immediate future.

Arsenal were pushing to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga and even agreed terms for the 16-year-old, but he now looks set to join Manchester City.

Their youth recruitment is likely to continue as they look to build a quality squad for the future.

According to a report from Parma Live, Arsenal are now set to make an offer in the region of £17m to sign Boca Juniors youngster Tomas Aranda in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners face competition from the likes of Parma and Como for the young star. Despite him having a release clause below the figure Arsenal are willing to pay, they could be looking to get ahead of the competition.

Parma are now considering looking elsewhere as they feel they can’t compete with Aranda, who has been described as ‘the new Lionel Messi’.

If Arsenal do officially submit the offer, there’s a good chance they’ll be able to secure his signature ahead of the competition.

The Argentine media have previously waxed lyrical about Aranda, describing what his best qualities are as an attacking midfielder.

“This boy asks for the ball, which is fundamental. He has the ability to dribble past defenders and find a teammate, he understands the game and even featured in Boca’s most important attacking moves against San Lorenzo. He was involved in the most dangerous attacks, even playing as an attacking midfielder. He is a young player with every quality needed to become a top talent. It would be good if he were given the ball a little more, if he were more involved in the game, as he is an excellent support for Paredes in the final third.”

The young star certainly sounds like a player who has similar traits to his fellow Argentine Messi.

There’s no doubt that reaching the heights of arguably the greatest of all time will be a tricky task, and a move to a top league may be what he needs to flourish.
