Leandro Trossard looks set to leave Arsenal after parting ways with his agent. The Belgian international has failed to hold down a regular place in the starting XI since his £27million move from Brighton in January 2023, with speculation mounting over his future.

He only has a year left on his current deal. The Gunners have the option of extending it for another 12 months, but Mikel Arteta is seemingly looking to sell forward players to fund big-money transfers elsewhere. Indeed, Rodrygo, Benjamin Sesko, and Vikto Gyokores have all been linked with a move to north London.

Trossard, 30, appears to be behind players like Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli in Arteta’s pecking order. He’s now confirmed a major off-field move that could well accelerate his exit.

Following his split from Josy Comhair, he’s now joined German firm DH Sports and Entertainment Agency. The development comes as talks over a new deal at the Emirates seemingly stall.

The move has been widely perceived by fans as an indication that he’s preparing to negotiate a transfer. He’s already been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and Fenerbahce are also in the running.

Trossard hasn’t commented publicly on his future. He is said to be open to staying at Arsenal if a new contract offer is presented, having made 56 appearances in all competitions last season.

He was largely confined to an impact role, though, until squad injuries took their toll at the end of the campaign. Indeed, Arteta praised him after scoring in the win over Wolves in March.

The Spaniard said: “He can score on any surface and he’s a big threat. So composed, so cool, he can play in different positions. It’s just a joy to have him in the team.”
