Arsenal transfer news: Gabriel Jesus ‘proposed’ to European giants as Mikel Arteta weighs up January loan exit
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been ‘offered’ to a Serie A giant ahead of a possible January loan move, according to a report.
The Brazil international has only made three appearances this season due to the serious ACL injury he suffered in January, but he has made his presence felt since returning to the team.
Jesus forced Yerson Mosquera’s goal in Arsenal’s nervy 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend in the Premier League, before which he hit the crossbar in his comeback against Club Brugge in the Champions League.
The 28-year-old also got 30 minutes off the bench. Saturday’s 1-0 win over Evertonand he was set to start Tuesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace in the Emirates.
Kai Havertz is expected to return soon from a knee injury to rival Jesus and Gyokeres for ninth place, and the former Manchester City striker is out of contract at the end of the 2026-27 season.

Jesus cannot be completely left out of Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad, but the striker will need to play regularly if he is to have any chance of making Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the summer tournament.
According to Gianluigi Longari – via Sportitalia – AC Milan have now expressed interest in Jesus’ loan move, and the Rossoneri are weighing up a possible move after the striker was ‘offered’ to them.
Milan are believed to be making progress in their efforts to sign Niclas Fullkrug from West Ham United, but they could also target a second number nine during the winter window, and they are currently assessing Jesus’ fitness following his injury misfortune.
The report speculates that Arsenal could be willing to let Jesus leave midway through the season if Milan accept an option or obligation to make the deal permanent this summer, but his salary could also be a sticking point.
The former Palmeiras youngster reportedly earns £265,000-a-week at Arsenal, making it Mikel Arteta’s second-highest earner behind Havertz, who pockets £280,000-a-week.

While it is not impossible to believe that AC Milan are interested in bringing Jesus to the Italian top flight, it would be a shock to see the move come to fruition next month.
Firstly – and perhaps most importantly – Jesus has previously expressed his desire to stay at Arsenal and help the Gunners compete for trophies, seemingly putting his club affiliations ahead of his 2026 World Cup hopes.
The 28-year-old may not be in contention for a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, but Arteta should not consider weakening his squad midway through the season, especially with Gyokeres struggling to adapt and Havertz’s fitness record also leaving much to be desired.
In just three games since his ACL recovery, Jesus has looked sharper than many could have imagined, and the South American offers a unique dimension to Arsenal’s attack by firing on all cylinders.
Jesus’ situation will be assessed by Arsenal next summer, but he will surely still be in red and white when the January transfer window closes.
