Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners are still working on five offers despite £ 68 million passing
Arsenal begins its Premier League campaign against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday but is still working on offers to strengthen Mikel Artetas squad
Arsenal is starting its Premier League campaign, with just two days until they meet Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, and their squad is now quite settled.
Gunners has been included in the summer transfer window and signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad.
It is hoped that the reinforcements can help to turn Arsenal from multi-year runners to Premier League champions for the first time since 2004. Still, there are still a few weeks left until the window is closed for business on September 1 and Arsenal is not done yet.
The attention has now turned to loosening some unwanted players, hoping that these funds can then be reinvested at more arrivals. Here, mirror football looks at the possibilities.

The Eze time deadline passes
Arsenal has been interested in signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer. And they know that Eze, who spent time in Arsenal’s academy as a young man, is interested in moving north of the river.
But things have gone quiet and Gunners have now missed the chance to trigger Eze’s emission clause of £ 68 million. It is understood that the clause expires today and Tottenham is in pole position to sign the England star.
Spurs prepares a bid in the region with the fee of £ 55 million which they paid West Ham for Mohammed Kudus, according to Talksport, and Arsenal is not expected to challenge. They have cooled down their interest, with Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman’s breakthrough that gives back up to Martin Odegaard when they attacked the midfield.
Five sales in work
Sports Director Andrea Berta has been busy since he came from Atletico Madrid. But he still has lots of work left to do – and most of it now affects player sales, rather than signings.
Gunners has only generated only £ 8.57 million through player sales after Flogging left -back Nuno Tavares to Lazio and Marquinhos to Cruzeiro. They are far behind Chelsea and Liverpool in that regard and the need grows as the clock ticks down to the end of the month.
The Arteta’s page must find buyers for those like Leandro Trossard, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Karl Hein. Vieira and Nelson are on the front of the queue right now, with Stuttgart who is interested in the former and Fulham the latter.
Norgaard surprise surprise
Arsenal paid £ 12 million to sign Norgaard from Brentford in early July, with his arrival that led to a surprise. Norgaard had spent six years of bees and risen to take the captain, but for some did not seem to be of Arsenal.
It seems that the deal took over surprisingly in Brentford as well, with his teammate at the club and international level Mikkel Damgaard who explained the reaction.
“Yes, you could say it was a little surprising,” Damsgaard told Viaplay. “He really deserved it with how he played last season. I don’t know if it’s an underestimated signing, but I really think it’s a really good signing for Arsenal. He’s a player who just has a lot of quality and works really hard.”
