Eze reveals “Emirates Trial”
Eberechi Eze has revealed that he played as if he were at trial during each season he played on the Emirate.
In his first interview with the club he said: “I thought about coming back from the moment I understood other clubs and what it meant to become a professional.
“I’ve always thought: ‘Arsenal is where it is, that’s what I want to achieve, what I want to come to.’
“I have been on trial for four years, if I am honest. Every time I came to Arsenal I saw on the seat that I used to sit on when I used to play with my brothers, and I have said every time:” This is it – it’s time, this is an opportunity. “I won’t say I knew it would happen, but that’s the feeling.
“As a player I have a belief in myself. I have played how I have played, I have developed this and that, and I had the heart that if it is meant to be, it will happen and I think it will.
“But if it doesn’t, I’m in peace because I know I give everything. So for it to happen now and be in this position, there is a little more energy inside the thought.”
