Artetas next goal

Mirror football Understand that Mikel Arteta still wants to sign a new left wing this summer, but must sell before he can buy.

Leandro Trossard is the player who is likely to resign, with Aston Villa, Brentford and several other clubs throughout Europe that are interested in the wing. Although Arsenal spent big at Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli started at Old Trafford and Arteta wants to get extra qualification.

Gunners were interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but did not persecute a deal because of anxiety that he could block the way for young stars like Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman. Eze is now expected to go with rivals Tottenham instead.

Rodrygo statement

Real Madrid star Rodryo has been strongly linked to a transition to Arsenal, but the new manager Xabi Alonso has insisted that he is happy to keep the wing.

Rodrygo seemed to have fallen down the hacking order at Bernabeu after making only one start during Alonso at the Club World Cup. But when he was asked about Brazilian’s future before Real Madrid’s opener, Alonso said: “There are many rumors this summer.

“He looks good to me. I count on everyone, and I want them to be involved in the team and be 100 percent. That’s what worries me and what occupies me right now.”

Kiwior interest

AC Milan and Porto are both interested in signing the Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, according to a report from the standard.

Kiwior did not make the Matchday squad for Arsenal’s opener to Manchester United after the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia earlier this summer. The report says Arsenal does not want to lose kiwior, but they “can be tempted to sell if an offer is too good to reject”.
