Nwaneri signs new business
Arsenal Starlet Ethan Nwaneri has signed a new five -year contract on the Emirate.
The 18-year-old broke through in the Premier League for Gunners last season, which scored 26 performances and netted four goals.
He also presented strongly to England U21S when they defended their title of U21 euros in June.
A statement from the Arsenal Club quoted him and said, “Signing this contract means everything to me.
“I see this as my first real season in the men’s football, as part of the squad in the dressing room.
I am so excited for what I can bring to the team, I want to help us win as much as possible and give happiness and honor to the club.
“This is where I feel at home.”
Emirates Cup Returns
The Emirates Cup returns tomorrow when Arsenal takes on athletic Bilbao.
Gunners has won the competition for three years on the bounce and has lost only once in the last six years.
Former Arsenal Star announces retirement
Former Arsenal star Kyle Bartley has announced his pension aged 34.
It will only be 24 hours before his side West Brom will start his championship campaign.
He said: “I am lucky enough to have represented some outstanding clubs during my career and Albion has a special place in my heart.
“Unfortunately, a knee injury that I raised last season has led me to make the difficult decision to hang my boots, despite my best efforts to rehabilitate from it.
“I think I am extremely lucky to have played the game I love, and it is heights and low football that have helped make me the man I am today.
“I would like to record my thanks to everyone at the club for their support during my seven years here. The club is lucky enough to have some outstanding people working on all levels and I am lucky to have established some special friendship along the way.
“I continue to support Ryan Mason and the boys and do not plan to be a stranger at Hawthorns – a special place that I will always be fond of.
