Arsenal women draw Aston Villa in FA Cup

Arsenal will host Aston Villa on the weekend of January 17-18 as they enter the Women’s FA Cup.

The tie is set to be played at Meadow Park, in line with Arsenal’s announcement earlier this season confirming that women’s domestic cup ties, including the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and FA Women’s Subway League Cup, will be played at the Mangata Pay UK Stadium.

16 Hull City v Birmingham City

There are two ties between the WSL sides, Arsenal v Aston Villa and Tottenham v Leicester.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all had favorable draws.

West Ham could face a potential banana skin against an ambitious Newcastle side, while London City Lionesses face an equally testing trip to Sunderland.

A tier four club is guaranteed a place in the fifth round, with Chatham Town set to face York City.

The first block of the year will be extremely demanding for Arsenal. Between January 10 and February 22, the club will participate in five competitions: the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Barclays WSL, the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and the Subway Cup.

During this period, Arsenal are expected to play between seven and 11 matches in total. Reinforcements during the January transfer window would therefore come at the right time.
