Aston Villa fight for Champions League. Important win against Nottingham Forest

Aston Villa beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 in the last match of the 31st round of the Premier League on Saturday. The hosts scored twice in quick succession but then had to tremble for the result.
Aston Villa are not giving up on the fight for the Champions League, and such a victory against Nottingham Forest, who have been sensational this season, can only have a positive impact on the team.
The hosts settled the matter in three minutes. In the 13th minute, Youri Tielemans made a great pass to Morgan Rogers, who scored with a confident left-foot shot past Matza Sels.
And if that wasn’t enough, the hosts were leading 2-0 in a moment. After a sensational move and a powerful cross by Ian Maatsen, Donyell Malen added his foot. It was a roller that rolled over the team from Nottingham.
There were no more goals before half-time, but the hosts decided not to come out for the second half. Because that’s how you have to describe what happened on the pitch. Nottingham Forest were a much better team and had no problem creating more situations in front of Emiliano Martinez’s goal. This resulted in a goal from Morgan Rogers.
There were more chances, but either Emiliano Martinez defended brilliantly or the visitors missed the target. Sometimes it was close, like in injury time when Murillo’s shot hit the crossbar.
Matty Cash sat the entire match on the bench this time.
