Basketball at 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to overturn two days before opening the ceremony
Basketball will have an advantage to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
FIBA – the international basketball government body that supervises Olympic basketball – announced this week that the program revised for the event has the first games on July 12, two days before the opening ceremonies of July 14.
“This adjustment allows the quarterfinals to be played for two days and will also guarantee that no game will start before 12:00, improving the overall experience for players, teams, fans and broadcasters,” Fiba said in a statement that announces the change.
What has not been announced is whether this change affects male or female tournaments or both. Those tournaments consist of a dozen male and female teams – who qualify for the Olympics through results at the World Cup and qualified tournaments – and those tournaments will cross the games of the gold medal on 29 and 30 July (July 30 is the last day of the Los Angeles Olympics). All basketball matches should be played at the Intuit Dome of English, the Los Angeles Clippers house.
The United States are the gold medals in charge for both men (who have won five Olympic gold in a row) and the women (the eight times champions in Olympic defense).
