Cataldi’s penalty in injury time gives Lazio victory over Genoa in Serie A

ROME (AP) — Danilo Cataldi converted from the penalty spot 10 minutes into injury time to lift Lazio 3-2 over Genoa in Serie A on Friday.

Lazio were cruising after taking a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half. Pedro converted a penalty for the opening goal and Kenneth Taylor doubled the lead.

Although Lazio is one of the three Serie A teams with the most clean sheets – 11 – Genoa were unbeaten in their previous five matches and returned to a draw. Ruslan Malinovskyi scored from the penalty spot and Vitinha equalized with 15 minutes remaining.

Lazio move up one position in the standings, reaching eighth place.

Genoa, despite having one of the worst defenses in Serie A, were 13th and tied on points with Cremonese, Parma and Torino.
