Celtics Jaylen Brown discusses to face anxiety, depression: “I have been in some very dark places”
Jaylen Brown will be under a different type of reflector in a new season, but when he was given the possibility of this week he highlighted a problem on a problem with which many people have to do, struggles for mental health.
In an honest and sincere interview with the School of Hard Knocks And published on Instagram, Brown opened his struggles with mental health.
“I faced anxiety, even depression. I have been in some very dark places. But I feel that those dark places have allowed my light to shine.”
Brown joins a growing list of current and ex players who Have I talked about their struggles with mental health as players. This includes DeMar Derozan and Kevin Love, who were at the forefront of the discussion. Brown was asked for his advice for people who feel like they were on the bottom.
“I would say that it is fine. Never let nobody break your spirit. At a certain point everyone will face adversity … even the plants fight to get the sunlight.”
Brown also attributed his confidence in helping him to face the problems.
Brown’s role with Celtics will change this year.
