Chelsea’s Joao Pedro voted Player of the Matchweek
Chelsea’s Joao Pedro was voted player of the week 29.
The Brazilian striker continued his good season by scoring his first hat-trick in the Premier League, during the Blues’ 4-1 victory against Aston Villa. He also claimed an assist on Cole Palmer’s goal.
Joao Pedro has now scored 14 times in 2025/26, with only Erling Haaland (22), Igor Thiago (18) and Antoine Semenyo (15) scoring more often.

This is the first time that Joao Pedro has been named Player of the Week this season, and the fourth time that this distinction has been won by a Chelsea player, following the two successes of Moises Caicedo and that of Palmer.
Joao Pedro took 59 percent of the fan votes for week 29, while his closest challenger, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, had 9 percent.
Other nominees were Newcastle United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale (eight percent), West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville and Sunderland’s Omar Alderete (both six percent), Everton’s Idrissa Gueye (five percent), Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton (four percent) and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Andre (three percent).
