Cristhian Mosquera sends message after handing Arsenal fresh injury worry
Cristhian Mosquera was sent off during the first half of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Brentford after landing awkwardly following a challenge, with the defender posting silent Instagram snaps on Thursday.
Cristhian Mosquera has sent a message after being forced off the pitch during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Brentford. The former Valencia central defender had to leave the match in the first half on Wednesday due to a difficult reception after a tackle.
The 21-year-old defender shared a series of captionless photos on his Instagram Story, one of which featured the song “Funky – Eres Mi Bendición” and “gio. and Aaron Cole – GOD’S TIMING.” Arsenal now face a tense wait over the defender’s fitness as his defensive options dwindle due to a series of injuries.
Mikel Arteta has already had to do without the duo of William Saliba and Gabriel, both recently injured. Gabriel is expected to spend weeks on the bench after injuring his thigh while on international duty with Brazil.

Meanwhile, the France international has missed the last two matches after picking up an injury in the build-up to Sunday’s London derby against Chelsea.
On Thursday, Mosquera took to Instagram to share two action photos from his 44-minute stint at the Emirates Stadium.
Mosquera was forced off the field after heading past Kevin Schade just before half-time, and speaking after the 2-0 win, the Gunners head coach admitted there was uncertainty over the 21-year-old’s fitness.
“Yeah, obviously it’s never good news,” he said.
“Declan must have gone out, we don’t know. We have to see tomorrow what’s wrong with him. And Mosquera is the other one who is out.
“Obviously Gabriel and Willy are also out. So we have to adapt.”
Mosquera featured in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend, alongside Piero Hincapie for the first time as assistant.
The duo retained their place in the starting XI for Brentford’s trip to north London.
However, Mosquera’s setback poses another problem, with Arsenal holding a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Arteta continued: “(Rice) can walk. He can’t play.
“The trick is to play a lot of minutes, but also when. Now we play Wednesday night and we also have to play Saturday morning.
“We can play a few minutes, but if they can give us just a little more time to recover and make the well-being of these players a little easier, that would be great.
“We have to wait and see (with Mosquera). It’s probably part of the knee or the ankle, we don’t know. He couldn’t really tell us exactly how it was, but he couldn’t continue.”
