Darius Bazley, Dalton Knecht helps Lakers Rally for California Classic Vint on Spurs

The Lakers gathered from a 14 -point deficit in the third quarter, closing the California Classic with three games with a victory over San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday evening at the Chase Center.
The Lakers striker Darius Bazley guided all the players to score 27 points in a shot of seven to nine, hitting the dunk. Bazley has also obtained 13 game rebounds.

When asked about what the event for the Lakers unleashed, Bazley replied: “Our defense, only by raising the intensity, raising our physicality. In the end it was only our mentality, you just want to finish”.
The Lakers intensified the main defensive rebounds and stop along the stretch, with Bazley which is the defensive focal point. It was statistically the best defender of the team during the games of the summer league.
“There are many dogs in this team, defensively.” Bazley said. “This is a great point of emphasis that we have had throughout the training field, which brings so far, going to Las Vegas. So it is in our minds that go into confusion, something we are constantly talked about.”
Dalton Knecht was also fundamental in the victory of the return of the Lakers, marking 25 points and collecting eight rebounds with a shot of 50%, including four three episodes.

Knecht went 0-to-nine of three points during his first two California Classic games.
“I finally found my pace. It took a while, I took a couple of games but I just stayed the path.” Knecht said he thought about his performance: “All my teammates believed in me to go out and hit those shots. When I saw a fall I continued to shoot and my teammates continued to find me”.
The Lakers started slowly, shooting less than 40% in the first half, but found their rhythm when it counted.
“Each of us collected the court complete and made life rather hard, trying to exhaust their sets that we did a good job especially in the stretch.” Knecht said she discussing what has increased the level of teams defensively.

Bronny James, still working to bring her conditioning back to the game level, played just over five minutes and scored two points.
Cole Swider, who scored 15 points against the Spurs, was appointed in the classic All-California team of 2025. Swider scored on average 19.7 points, shooting 57.6% from the field, 47.6% from three and 91.7% from the free shooting line. Swider added five rebounds a game with a theft and a block in 28.7 minutes in three games.
The Lakers will go to Las Vegas and play the Dallas Maverks, led by choice no. 1 of Pick Cooper Flagg, Thursday.
