People should have realized how good Arteta was when he achieved the above, but the critics refused to go away. They constantly downplayed his abilities and still do the same thing today.
Those who worked with the Spaniard, however, have a completely different opinion. Declan Rice is one of them.
The midfielder boldly asserted that Arteta would win absolutely everything, something no Arsenal manager has done before – not even the great Arsene Wenger.
He told StanSport FC: “I think I’m very lucky to say that I was able to play under him.
“I think he is a manager who is still young in his managerial career, but when all is said and done he will be considered one of the best. This is just the beginning.
“Don’t judge him now, judge him at the end, when he’s won everything, because he sure will. I think he’s just incredible tactically.”
