Arsenal teammates were active on social media and reacted to club captain Martin Odegaard’s latest update.
Odegaard endured a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, battling with injuries and inconsistency that left many fans disappointed.
Some Arsenal supporters even questioned whether Odegaard should remain captain, pointing to a lack of leadership during key matches, particularly in the Champions League semi-final against PSG.
While the Norwegian wasn’t at his best, it was a challenging season all round for Arsenal, who finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive year.
Following the summer break, Odegaard shared a post as he and his teammates returned to the club in a return to training.

The Gunners skipper kept it brief with his caption on Instagram to say “Back to work”.

Support quickly poured in from his teammates, with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard among those showing their backing with likes and reactions.
His club performances left some fans disappointed with just six goals across all competitions and only three in the Premier League.
However, Odegaard showed flashes of his best form for Norway during the summer World Cup qualifiers. That international spell may prove to be the confidence boost he needed heading into the new campaign.
Meanwhile, the club have bolstered their midfield with the arrivals of Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi, while Arsenal’s interest remains in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
If a deal for Eze materialises, it could spark fresh competition for Odegaard’s spot, especially with questions still lingering over his displays.
Leandro Trossard’s future in doubt as Bayern circle

While Trossard was among the many to engage with Odegaard’s post, the Belgian’s future in North London remains uncertain.
Bayern Munich are the latest club to show an interest in Trossard, as he enters his final year of his deal.
Football Insider revealed back in May that Arsenal were in talks with Trossard over a new deal, but talks have stalled since.
While he has been a reliable squad player since arriving from Brighton, if the club receive a strong offer, they could choose to cash in rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
