EPL: Arteta confirms double Arsenal injury blow after Brentford win
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed injuries to Cristhian Mosquera and Declan Rice.
The Gunners beat Brentford 2-0 on Wednesday night to restore their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Merino and Bukayo Saka scored in both halves as Arteta’s men recorded a crucial victory at the Emirates.
But those three points came at a cost, as Mosquera limped off in the first half and was replaced by Jurrien Timber.
Viktor Gyokeres also replaced Declan Rice in the second half.
“We lost Saliba, we lost the great Gabby, today we lost Mosquera,” Arteta said.
“It’s been a challenge. Ben White was excellent today. Everyone who gets the chance performs well.
“We’ll know more tomorrow. They need to be tested. Declan had to pull out…let’s see who’s available.”
