Espn Demotees Doris Burke from the NBA final transmission team in favor of Tim Legler
When Espn will keep the NBA finals next season, Doris Burke will not be part of the broadcast. The network is removing Burke from his team of transmission of the NBA finals in favor of Tim Legler.
Burke, 60, has provided coverage of the NBA finals to the network in the last two seasons. When he was elevated for the first time in the role in 2023, Burke became the first woman to serve as a game analyst during a series of championships in one of the four main sports in North America.
Announcement
Burke worked in the final in June together with the long-standing Annunciation of the Play-BY-Play Mike Breen and the former Star of the NBA Richard Jefferson. Both men remain in the transmission team n. 1 of ESPN next season. Will be reached by Legler.

According to Espn’s release Thursday afternoon, Burke now “will work regularly” with Dave Pasch in the NBA games.
In June, Athletic reported that Burke’s Spot in Espn’s best NBA team was in danger. Following that report, Burke received praise from the coach of the Indiana Pacers Rick Carlisle – whose team was playing at the NBA finals at the time – and Jefferson, who wore a T -shirt in support of Burke at the Women’s College World Series.
Announcement
Despite those support projections, Espn, according to reports, has still made the move. Executive vice -president Espn Mike Mcquode is what, according to reports, made the call, according to Andrew Marchand of Athletic. The president of the network Jimmy Pitaro or President Burke Magnus could have vetoed the decision, but they did not do it, for Marchand.
Legler, a former NBA veteran at 10 years, is a longtime NBA analyst at Espn. He joined the network in 2000 and has appeared in countless shows in the past 25 years. Legler began to regularly call the games to Epn in 2023.
Although Burke has been moved to Espn’s best NBA team, he will remain on the net during the next season NBA and beyond while Espn has announced an extension of the “multi -year” contract with her.
Announcement
Espn’s best NBA crew has undergone a series of changes in recent seasons. Following the fire of Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson in 2023, Espn struggled to find coherent partners for Breen. Burke and Doc Rivers were promoted to the team in 2023, but Rivers left to return to coaching. JJ Redick was brought to the following season before leaving to take the Los Angeles Lakers coaching work.
