From champions to relegated clubs and those qualifying for Europe, see the key elements of 2025/26 season

As a dramatic 2025/26 Premier League season came to a close, we give an overview of the key elements.

Who’s won the title?

Arsenal have claimed the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.

They were confirmed as champions following Manchester City’s draw at AFC Bournemouth in Matchweek 37, but lifted the trophy on the final day of the season following a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta’s side finished on 85 points, seven points clear of second-placed Man City.

Who’s qualified for Europe?

Arsenal, Man City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool have qualified for the UEFA Champions League after finishing in the top five of the Premier League table.

AFC Bournemouth and Sunderland have qualified for the UEFA Europa League after finishing sixth and seventh respectively, while eighth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion have earned a spot in the UEFA Conference League.

It is the first time in Bournemouth’s history that they have qualified for Europe, while Brighton and promoted Sunderland will compete on the continent for just the second time.

Usually, only the teams who finish from first to fourth qualify for the Champions League. But this season, the Premier League earned a fifth Champions League spot — as it did last year for the first time – after claiming one of two European Performance Spots (EPS).

Who’s been relegated?

West Ham United, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all been relegated and will play in the EFL Championship next season.

West Ham’s relegation was confirmed on the final day of the season after 17th-placed Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton to finish two points clear of the drop zone.

Burnley (19th) and Wolves (20th) were already down before they played each other on the last day and drew.

Who’s won the Golden Boot?

Man City striker Erling Haaland has won the Coca-Cola Golden Boot as the Premier League’s leading scorer with 27 goals. It is the third time the Norwegian has won the prize in four seasons.

Brentford’s Igor Thiago was second in the standings with 22 goals, while Man City’s Antoine Semenyo – who started the season at Bournemouth – was third with 17 goals.

Who’s won the Golden Glove?

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has claimed the Coca-Cola Golden Glove for keeping the most clean sheets in the Premier League.

The Spaniard registered 19 clean sheets in 37 appearances for the Gunners – not playing on the final day –  putting him well clear of Man City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, who kept 15 in his first season in English football.

It is Raya’s third successive Golden Glove, although he shared last year’s with Matz Sels of Nottingham Forest.

Who’s won the Playmaker award?

Bruno Fernandes has won the Playmaker award for the player with the most assists.

The Man Utd midfielder set up 21 goals in 2025/26, breaking the record for most assists in a Premier League season, previously shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

Fernandes’ tally was well clear of his nearest challenger for the Playmaker prize, Rayan Cherki, who recorded 12 assists.

Who’s been named EA SPORTS Player of the Season?

Fernandes has been named Player of the Season, to go alongside his Playmaker award.

As well as recording 21 assists, the Portuguese star scored nine goals to help Man Utd secure third place in the table and qualify for the Champions League.

Fernandes was also named the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year.

The versatile 21-year-old made 34 appearances for Man City in the Premier League and had eight goal involvements (five goals, three assists), while playing a part in nine clean sheets.
