🎧 Who’s in my rotation: 9-cat and points championships

Anthony Black – PG/SG, Orlando Magic (22% of roster)

Let’s keep it simple: black should be placed everywhere. While I prefer him in points leagues, Black has been a near-top-100 player in 9-cat formats over the past week. Despite his struggles with turnovers and free throws, he averaged 23.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 stocks per game, shooting 53 percent from the floor. In a four-game week that begins Monday against the Bulls without Paolo Banchero, continue to stream Black.

Jaylon Tyson – SF, Cleveland Cavaliers (14% on roster)

Tyson is proving to be an effective two-way player and a near top-100 asset in his second season with the Cavs. In 11 games as a starter this season, Tyson put up solid lines of 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.6 3-pointers per game while shooting 54.8 percent from the field. It plays 20-30 minutes regularly and offers you multi-category production with limited turnovers. I like it best for 9-cat formats in a four-game week, but it’s a reasonable option for points leagues too.

Bilal Coulibaly – SF/PF, Washington Wizards (19% of roster)

Coulibaly is on the rise in Week 7 due to the Wizards’ schedule. The opponents are not very great, but they open the week with a duel Monday-Tuesday and then play Thursday and Saturday. That’s at least three days where fantasy managers can take advantage of his counting stats. His situation is also helped by the fact that Tre Johnson and Corey Kispert were injured and Khris Middleton didn’t play back-to-back. Stocks are the driving force behind his fantasy value right now, but I would look to stream him in points and 9-cat leagues this week.

Tre Jones – PG, Chicago Bulls (21% roster)

Last week I soured on Jones in High Score and it was a mistake. He has established a legitimate sixth-man role with the Bulls and continues to be a strong source of steals and assists with a low turnover rate. Last week, Jones also averaged 14 points per game, helping him finish among the top 90 players in 9-cat for Week 6. I think Jones is better for 9-cat because fantasy managers can realize his efficiency gains. However, with such a high steal and assist rate, he is useful in most 10+ team environments, especially with the Bulls playing four games in Week 7.

Miles McBride – PG/SG, New York Knicks (12% of roster)

McBride’s role has expanded with OG Anunoby’s recent hamstring injury. OG has been cleared to work on the field, but is not yet ready to return. Meanwhile, McBride is a player to consider if you need to score in 9-cat leagues, as he was a top-100 player the last two weeks and finished as a sixth-round value in Week 6. His fantasy stock is rising thanks to his efficiency. Deuce’s shooting times over the last two weeks are near elite, shooting 47/49/86 on nearly 4.0 3s per game. The Knicks have some fantasy-friendly teams on the field like the Celtics, Hornets and Jazz, so he’s an option in Week 7.

Weekly program

Teams to target

Announcement

Each team listed above plays at least three games on lighter days this week: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. If you want to be able to fit a waiver wire asset into your lineup, these teams are your best bet to not get wasted on the bench.

Teams in decline

The Kings will be off until Wednesday and won’t play again until Saturday. I’d drop anyone besides Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray, and DeMar DeRozan.

The Suns play Tuesday and Friday, so fantasy managers will have to decide whether it’s worth keeping Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie. I would try to hold Gillespie and Brooks but I would understand if you have to drop them.
