Forget Rogers: Arsenal Set to Give Final Green Light for Tzolis Transfer
Arsenal chiefs are set to give the final green light to a deal to sign Christos Tzolis in a record-breaking move, according to journalist Kostas Lianos.
Arsenal have had a quiet start to the summer transfer window while their north London neighbours have made half-a-dozen signings, but the Gunners are beginning to launch into action as the beginning of pre-season nears.
Club chiefs have secured the signing of Illan Meslier on a free transfer after the goalkeeper left Leeds United at the end of his contract, while they continue to work on a deal to bring Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers to the Emirates.
Outgoings are also being worked on, with Arsenal agreeing a deal with Besiktas for Leandro Trossard, with the Turkish giants now needing to agree personal terms with the Belgium international, who is currently preparing for a World Cup quarter-final tie with Spain.
The Gunners are paying particular attention to strengthening their attack ahead of next season, as they not only look to retain their first Premier League title since 2024, but also go one step further and win the Champions League too, having narrowly lost out to Paris Saint-Germain this year.
Arsenal Ready to Finalise Record Tzolis Transfer
According to Sun journalist Lianos, Arsenal are now close to completing an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Tzolis to replace Trossard, should the Belgian seal a move away from the English capital.
The deal is likely to be worth around £35m, which would be a record transfer for a Greek player, although Gunners chiefs still need to give the final green light so that the winger can travel to London and undergo a medical.
Tzolis provided a remarkable 29 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions for Brugge last season, also contributing 22 goals in a stunning campaign for the Greece international.

Tzolis Deal Doesn’t Impact Rogers Pursuit
The report adds that even though Tzolis prefers to play from the left-hand side, any move for the former Norwich City man doesn’t impact Arsenal’s plans to sign Rogers from Villa.
The Gunners are still intent on signing the England star in this summer window, although negotiations are going to be required, with Villa said to value their prized asset at £130m.
The player side of things should be more simple with the player wanting the move, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that an agreement over personal terms is already ‘close’.
Arsenal chiefs will know that they need to be clever with the structure of their opening bid for Rogers, if they are to tempt their Champions League rivals into a sale.
The third big signing the Gunners are currently working on is that of Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, with the Brazilian now informing his side that he wants to make the move to the Emirates.
An exit for the Brazil international has been made complicated by the fact that the Magpies have already sold midfield partner Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon for big money this summer, and they don’t want to lose another key player.
