Gabriel Martinelli’s surprise Arsenal transfer exit has just become a lot more likely after German media update

A shock twist has happened early into the summer transfer window as Gabriel Martinelli’s future has been questioned.
Martinelli has been linked to Bayern Munich in a surprising transfer rumour amid Arsenal’s hunt for a new left-winger.
Mikel Arteta will want to sign competition for the Brazilian during the 2025 summer transfer window, with one option being Rodrygo.
Martinelli knows what it’s like to compete with Rodrygo, but now, there’s a chance that the 24-year-old could leave the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal fans didn’t know what to think about Martinelli’s links to Bayern, as despite the winger having a lacklustre few years, the idea of him not being at the club feels wrong.
The 2019 signing arrived in North London as an unknown youngster from Brazil and over the years, has made a name for himself both for the Gunners and for his national team.
Martinelli always speaks highly of Arsenal, but amid discussion of a possible transfer to Bayern, German journalist Tobias Altschaffl aired a largely different scenario.
Speaking with fellow reporter Christian Falk on BILD’s Bayern Insider podcast, Altschaffl shared his opinion that Martinelli isn’t entirely happy at the Emirates.
“I don’t think Martinelli is 100% happy at Arsenal either. There’s a chance there – now we have to decide for ourselves whether he’s up to Bayern’s level.”
Falk opened the discussion by confirming that while Martinelli is not at the ‘top’ of Bayern’s transfer wishlist, he’s an ‘interesting’ figure to the Bavarian club.
BILD notes that Rafael Leao and Nico Williams are also targets for Bayern, two players who have also been linked to Arsenal.

Martinelli has already responded to concerns about his future
Altschaffl’s claim is rather surprising given that only weeks ago, Martinelli expressed how happy he was at Arsenal ahead of the Champions League semi-final.
“I love to be here and the club has given me so much, not just on the pitch but off it as well. I’m really happy,” the Brazilian told the media in late April.
Yes, Martinelli needs to step up, but there’s little chance that his dip in form will result in a transfer, as Arsenal Insider have been informed.
We understand that Arsenal want to offer Martinelli a new contract, but it’s also viable that the 24-year-old’s game time will be interrupted if a new signing arrives this summer.
In that sense, it could be said that the winger’s future is uncertain, though claims of his lack of happiness in N5 are difficult to believe.
