Gilbert Arenas arrested for alleged execution of illegal poker games from his home
The three-time All-Nba player Gilbert Arenas was arrested, together with five other defendants-“including a suspected high-level member of a criminal group organized Israeli transnational”-for the alleged management of high-content poker games by a home of Los Angeles owned by arene.
Arenas is destined to be accused on Wednesday, accused of a conspiracy count to manage an illegal game activity, a counting of managing an illegal game activity and a count to make false statements to federal investigators, according to the United States prosecutor’s office, Central District of California.
The arenas could serve up to five years in prison for each count for which it was sentenced.

“According to the accusation returned on July 15th and not sealed today, from September 2021 to July 2022, [suspected organized crime figure from Israel Yevgeni] Gershman, Arenas and the other defendants managed an illegal game activity. The arenas rented a home in Encino who owned in order to host illegal poker games with a high post content. At the direction of Arenas, Arthur Kats, 51 years old, from West Hollywood, staged the building to host the games, found co-Sosti to host the games and collected the rent from the co-Sosti on behalf of Arenas.
The crew presumably manages “Pot Limit” illegal poker games, among other illegal matches, according to the accusation. The young women were hired and “served by drinks, provided massages and offered company to poker players” in exchange for suggestions (women were accused of a “tax” for their earnings paid to the organizers. There were also armed security guards, chefs, parking wagons for games and more, according to the United States prosecutor’s office.
The current investigations were a coordinated effort of the NorthRridge office of the investigations on national security, of the main crimes division of the Los Angeles Police Department – Transnational organized criminal section and IRS criminal investigations.
The arenas were suspended for most of the 2009-10 NBA season after a clash in which his former teammate of Wizards Javaris Crittenton threatened him with a charged gun in the locker room. As the arenas said, after a discussion with Crittenton for a bourré match, Crittenton said they would shoot arenas, to which the arenas said he called his bluff and would give him the guns. The next day, the arenas said they had exposed four pistols in front of his locker and told Crittenton to choose one, but instead Crittenton pulled out his charged gun. After the accident, the arenas declared themselves guilty of illegal possession of an without a license in the Columbia district.
