Heat’s Tyler Herro to lose the 2025-26 season after foot surgery
Miami Tyler Herro’s heat guard will miss the start of the NBA season of 2025-26 after undergoing surgery in the left foot and ankle, according to Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang.
The injury is something that has hit Herro since summer, reports Chiang. The heat guard has recently received prp and cortisone injections as a way to avoid surgery, but Herro continued to feel the discomfort in the foot.
Announcement
A calendar for the return of Herro has not been announced, but the team could announce the details after Friday’s intervention.
Herro, 25 is entering its seventh NBA season, all with the heat. Last season, he led the team with 23.9 career points and 5.5 assists per game in 77 games. He also shot 37.5% from 3 points and his presence was missed on the pitch with Miami who scored 8.6 in fewer points for possession with him sitting outside.
His game gained his place in the NBA All-Star match as part of the “Young Stars” team in Kenny Smith, together with artists of the caliber of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Brunson and Anthony Edwards, among others. He also continued to win the competition in 3 points.
Herro and The Heat are suitable on October 1st to begin to discuss an extension of the contract in which he would have been able to add a three -year agreement of $ 149.7 million to the two years and $ 64 million remaining on his current contract. If the two sides had not reached an agreement by 20 October, Herro would have been entitled to a four -year extension, $ 206.9 million next summer.
Announcement
According to reports, the representatives of Herro and the heat will meet in early October. The president of Team Pat Riley said in May that discussions could wait until next season.
“Pay me now or pay me later, whatever it is,” said Riley. “We have already talked about it. I have talked about it with Tyler, and therefore we will see what happens as we plan. The numbers are becoming large enough for many guys. Max salaries in this league, who go? I want to say, who really go? Committed, but we will discuss it and I have already talked about it.
The heat is scheduled to open the training field on September 30th.
