Here is the bracket for Świątek in Stuttgart! The second match could be a “nightmare”

Iga Świątek is in Stuttgart, where she will traditionally start the clay court competition. The Polish player has already won this WTA 500 tournament twice, but last year she was eliminated in the semifinals. The second-seeded WTA vice-leader has learned the bracket for this year’s edition of the event. She knows who she can face in her first match.

Everything is clear. We know Świątek’s first rival in Stuttgart

The 23-year-old Polish tennis player’s next appearance will be a WTA 500 event in Stuttgart, which will start on Monday, April 14. Iga Świątek has been there for a few days. She has also had the opportunity to practice at the main arena of the competition, the Porsche Arena, which she knows very well. The Pole triumphed there in 2022 and 2023. Last year, she was eliminated in the semifinals by Elena Rybakina, which was her first defeat in her career on the court in Stuttgart. The Kazakhstan player later defeated Marta Kostjuk in the final. However, she decided not to play in this year’s edition of the tournament, which means that she will not defend her title.

The main tournament bracket was drawn at noon on Sunday. The first four highest-seeded players – including tournament doubles player Iga Świątek – have a bye in the first round. In the second round, the Polish player will face Croatian Donna Vekić (20th WTA) or a player from the qualifications.

However, if Iga Świątek were to deal with her first opponent, a duel with Jelena Ostapenko is very likely. For this to happen, the Latvian, nicknamed “Światek’s nightmare” due to the balance of their head-to-head clashes, must deal with a qualifier and then with the better of the Emma Navarro- Beatriz Haddad Maia match. This would be the quarterfinal phase.
