Arsenal are in the midst of a busy summer transfer window, with several arrivals expected alongside high-profile departures.

Kieran Tierney and Jorginho have already confirmed their exits from Arsenal following the expiry of their contracts.

Meanwhile, the Gunners moved quickly to secure the long-term future of Gabriel Magalhaes, who signed a new deal earlier this month, keeping him at the club until 2029.

There had been uncertainty surrounding Lewis-Skelly, with Real Madrid showing serious interest in the highly-rated youngster. But those concerns have now been eased after the most recent update from the club.

Myles Lewis-Skelly shares emotional video after signing new Arsenal contract

Arsenal confirmed on 26 June that Lewis-Skelly has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The talented youngster shared a heartwarming Instagram post, which included a video of him receiving the news from his mother — who is also his agent — confirming the deal with Arsenal had been agreed. He captioned it: “WE LOVE IT. WE NEED IT.

“Spent a few days away relaxing and training with my friends. While I was away, Mum called with some good news “

The emotional video sparked plenty of positive reactions, with Arsenal legend Ian Wright, Leandro Trossard and academy graduate Ayden Heaven all showing their support by liking the post.

Lewis-Skelly signed his first professional contract with Arsenal when he turned 17 in October 2023. Under Football Association rules, players under the age of 18 cannot sign contracts longer than three years.

He was approaching the final year of his existing deal, but Arsenal have now moved quickly to tie him down to a long-term contract, easing any uncertainty over his future.

As well as breaking into the Arsenal senior squad, Lewis-Skelly earned his first England call-up from Thomas Tuchel in March for the World Cup qualifiers, marking his debut with a goal against Latvia.

While the club focuses on securing key contract extensions internally, they are also working on new signings to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s side.

Football Insider revealed on 26 June that Benjamin Sesko is keen to join Arsenal this summer, and contrary to recent reports, his representatives are not holding up the potential move.

Talks are also ongoing with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, but Sesko remains Arsenal’s preferred option to bolster their attacking line.

A final agreement is yet to be reached for either player, but the Gunners are expected to step up their pursuit in the coming weeks as they look to add firepower ahead of the new season.
