Injury expert reveals the player Arsenal might be ‘most concerned’ about after Crystal Palace win

Arsenal’s victory against Crystal Palace produced four injury problems as well as three points.
Mikel Arteta has the squad to deal with injuries; However, with a ridiculous schedule to follow, it is concerning that players are already so tired.
While fighting in the league, Europe and domestic cup competitions, the players traveled extensively, reporting for international assignments in between.
After Arsenal’s win over Crystal Palace, Arteta revealed that William Saliba was replaced early due to injury and, unfortunately, the Frenchman wasn’t the only one.

Expert shares first thoughts on Arsenal’s quadruple injury problem
Declan Rice was sent off after requiring help from Arsenal’s medical team, with Riccardo Calafiori also battling an issue.
Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli appeared to be limping at full time, with Arteta later confirming the Brazilian was feeling something.
Arsenal fans will be desperate for some good news, and to give their first thoughts on the four injuries, injury analyst ‘Physio Scout’ spoke to X to share some insight.
In summary, the expert said none of the injuries “scream long term.”
- On Saliba: “No obvious mechanics in the game to suggest a major injury. There should be a quick recovery.”
- On Rice: “It looked like a contusion on the calf due to contact with a Palace player. This should resolve itself within a week.”
- On Calafiori: “No clear mechanism for diffusion, which generally means sealing/fatigue rather than structural damage.”
Although the consensus is that there is nothing to worry about, the pundit suspected that Martinelli’s problem could make him the player who could be ‘most concerned’ by Arsenal.
The expert noted that the winger’s symptoms usually point “toward simple tightness/tightness,” which could be “early hamstring/adductor tightness.”
That being said, if Martinelli’s problem is tension rather than tightness, he could be out for two weeks or more.
Mikel Arteta now faces a real dilemma ahead of Brighton clash
If there’s one player Arteta wouldn’t want injured with a cup game on the horizon, it’s Martinelli.
Despite Arsenal’s excellent work in the transfer window, the Gunners have still failed to maximize their quality on the left flank.
| Player | Physical fitness |
| Gabriel Martinelli | Doubt |
| Ebéréchi Eze | Available |
| Léandro Trossard | Available |
| Noni Madueke | Out |
| Gabriel Jesus | Out |
Usually, if Martinelli is out, Leandro Trossard would replace him, but the Belgian also needs rest, currently being a starter in Arteta’s eyes.
With Noni Madueke also out, Arsenal’s options when selecting a left-back are very limited, putting pressure on Arteta to make the right choice while avoiding overworking Trossard.
It will be fascinating to see how Arteta handles the situation, with Arsenal currently possessing very few left-wing players.
