Jaylen Brown: ‘I’ve talked to Dana White’ about potentially meeting in the UFC after his NBA career
Jaylen Brown comes from a fighting background and once his basketball career is over, perhaps he will take his talents into the octagon.
The Boston Celtics star, who will play in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, discussed this idea when asked a question by a media member who claimed to have trained with his father in the boxing gym in the past during All-Star Media Day.
“To be honest, I’ve played around with it, and I’ve talked to some people, maybe posting some of my career, I’d like to take part in something like the UFC, or even boxing,” Brown told reporters. “I talked to Dana White about some things, but we’ll see how things go.”

Fighting and combat sports run generational in Brown’s family. The 29-year-old’s father was a WBU champion, while his grandfather Willie Brown was also a former boxer.
Of course, the five-time All-Star, two-time NBA Finals participant and one-time world champion and Finals MVP still has work to do on the hardwood. But since the Celtics also had coach Joe Mazulla, a big fan of combat sports, Brown will have the chance to watch UFC fights quite often.
